Planta greenhouses make backyard farming a reality for people throughout America and Canada. They are designed with the dedicated gardener in mind. If wind, hail, or snow is something that you’re worried about, these greenhouses are built to ease your mind and empower your passion.
The sungrow greenhouse series includes Planta’s most popular greenhouse. It uses heavy duty galvanized steel framing and 6mm double wall polycarbonate panels. They are engineered to withstand snow and wind, protecting your plants year round.
Similar to the Sungrow models, the Sigma greenhouse kits are built with heavy duty materials. The key difference is the arch shape rather than a bell shape but still all the quality greenhouse technology. With the protection from the weather, year round growing is a possibility in all planta greenhouse models.
Install price starts at $4,201.86
If you need something with more space and the same strength and value, Planta’s commercial greenhouse designs could be the option for you. Note that they are much bigger in sizes, while being equally, if not stronger than their backyard models.
Displayed on this page are the backyard friendly sizes, if you want something bigger, you can visit their website here: https://plantagreenhouses.com/collections/commercial-greenhouses
Planta’s adaptability feature is one thing that makes them different than most backyard greenhouse manufacturers. With their modular design they can expand lengthwise to give you the extra space that you need as your garden evolves. The backyard kits come with vents above the doors that allow air flow through the greenhouse. They also sell vents that attach to the roof that you can get automatic or manual openers as well. Naturally the additions will add to the cost of the kit, as well as the technicality of installation.
We recommend anchoring your greenhouse to a concrete foundation. This answers potential worries like about it blowing away, critters invading, or a wood base rotting after a few years. Concrete foundations are a customization that adds longevity and value to your greenhouse.
Planta kits are generally easy to construct and many have bought and built them on their own. We think that is great! Planta has great instructional videos that will help you on your project. We have found that the written instructions can be confusing and hard to follow at times. One common place we’ve had people reach out for help on is the vents. They are tricky and time consuming.
If you have the time and general construction experience, building a planta kit on your own is not a bad idea. What we offer as a builder is the peace of mind that comes from knowing that things are being done correctly. Also, we offer a build warranty for any mistakes that we make, along with the manufacturer warranty. Lastly, your afternoons and weekends will be free to start your garden and not filled with building the greenhouse.
